Metalvuoto was founded in the early ‘70s.
At that time the core business of the company was plastic film metallization for electro-electronic use (capacitors).
Focusing on and developing high vacuum metallization features, Metalvuoto was therefore considered deeply innovative and was one of the very first companies to supply the growing European market.
At the end of the 70s Metalvuoto decided to diversify its core business and started its own flexible food packaging production.
During those years the company made its way in a worldwide fast growing field, becoming one of the most relevant players and trend setters straight away.
In the mid-90s Metalvuoto decided to innovate metallization facilities introducing the new and pioneering Plasma technology radically improving film performances for flexible packaging.
The corporate structure of the company has always been able to rely on a predominant and solid familiar direction which has constantly developed business innovation strategies both in the short and long term.
Thanks to successful investments in research, scientific development of new production lines, management and growth in human resources, Metalvuoto has a constantly improving Know how.
The success of the company during those twenty years, from the ‘80s to 2000, made Metalvuoto well known all over the world.
In order to satisfy the increasing International demand, factories in North Carolina, South Africa, Termoli and Roncello were founded.
At the beginning of the new millennium, Metalvuoto had to face a reorganization due to the worldwide rise in production of metallized plastic films.
Metalvuoto started to obtain additional and remarkable results thanks to the cooperation with Università Degli Studi di Milano on the analysis of materials, products and facilities.
In 2006 the company won a remarkable challenge creating the successful Oxaqua patent.
The new fast growing production line gave birth to lacquers able to create high Oxygen and aroma barriers through the use of water-based eco-friendly coatings.
In 2010 Metalvuoto opened a new innovative production department: Olpack technology was created.
This new technology permits special embossing and high tech holography on every kind of material and thickness using an innovative laser system. This way Metalvuoto can once again increase its range of products.
Metalvuoto is today a youthful, dynamic and flexible company with the specific mission to create new eco-friendly products intended to improve people’s lifestyle.
